Position Overview & Specifications

Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term (12 months)

Working hours: 35hrs per week Mon-Fri though some evening and weekend work will be required.

Location: Cathedral Centre, 3 Ford Street, Salford, M3 6DP

Salary & benefits: £19,838 - £20,850 (Depending on experience), 25 holidays, plus statutory bank holidays and 5 Diocesan closure days.

About: The Diocese of Salford believes that being a responsible investor is about ensuring that the beliefs we hold as Catholics are translated into positive action through the portfolio of shares we hold. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Responsible Investment Intern to support the implementation and delivery of the Diocese’s Investment Policy Statement across asset classes in all markets (public equities, fixed income, private markets, and property).

What we are looking for: An individual with knowledge of both responsible investment best practices and global climate and environmental best practice. The post holder will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to co-operate with a wide range of visitors and work collaboratively across the Diocese. They will have a flexible, can-do, and proactive approach with the ability to contribute to the development of the Investment Committee’s work and to support the wider aims of the Diocese.

What you will need: The successful candidate will need to have a first degree in business, economics, or related subject. They will be trustworthy with the ability to work with complete discretion and confidentiality and have a friendly and professional manner. Sound organisational skills and the ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities and demands will be key.

It is not required for the post-holder to be Catholic, however the post holder should have an understanding and sensitivity to the values, principles and ethos of the Diocese of Salford and members of the Church in all aspects of their work.
