Location: Remote with national travel
Contract Type: Secondment (Full-Time) - 24 Months

DHL Supply Chain UK & Ireland takes project management very seriously. We have an extensive growth agenda and are seeking a Head of Project - Retail to join a dynamic team of more than 100 project professionals. Reporting to a sector facing Project Delivery Director, this role will be responsible for leading a team of PMs, as well as governing and managing a range of operational and IT projects that deliver the promises we make to our customers and progress our strategic agenda. The key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Act as a senior business partner between Project Delivery and the DHL Supply Chain Retail business, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure their projects are delivered in accordance with their customers' requirements
  • Provide project and programme management expertise across a portfolio of projects supporting both the UKI business and our customer operations and covering operational/business and IT projects
  • Line manage a small team of operations/business and IT project managers and support them in the projects they are running on behalf of your business unit
  • Control resources, revenue and capital costs against project budgets and the project delivery budget
  • Provide governance for projects across Retail to ensure compliance against our project management framework and global expectations

  • Previous experience in a senior project management role including line management of project professionals
  • Previous experience in change management, process improvement and stakeholder management
  • A recognised and up to date project management qualification eg Prince2 Practitioner/APM (desirable)
  • Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management
  • Personal resilience & humility
