Class 1 Driver

DFDS Logistics are based at 7 sites across the UK, have 338 trucks and 4,561 trailers that are used throughout the UK and Europe. Delivering to over 1,000 customers at over 4,000 unique sites, travelling nearly 30M KM per annum. Over 900 drivers are utilised, with close to 500 drivers being employed directly by DFDS.

Our site in Lerwick is looking for a Class 1 Driver to transport goods safely and in a timely manner to various destinations. To work on deliveries + collections. A real team player with a strong customer service focus and a can-do attitude is a must.

You will ensure all delivery notes are signed upon delivery, minimise the risk of accidents and always adhere to road transport regulations. Ensure the vehicle is kept to regulatory safety standards along with complying with VOSA legislation and ensuring all loads are strapped down adequately.

Day to Day roles include:

• Deliver chill, produce and ambient products to all our customers’ premises.
• Assist with unloading at store.
• Accurately record all activities in line with legislation and company requirements.
• Work within the remits of the European Drivers Hours regulations and Working Time Directive
• Follow fuel efficient driving standards.
