We are looking for someone to come and join our Children’s home – could this be you?
We have a rare opportunity for someone with little or no experience in this line of work to come and work with us and learn on the job. Our last trainee was promoted to residential support worker within 12 months - this could be you too!
We are registered to have 6 young people with us, aged 12 - 17 with EBD & challenging behaviour and you will be responsible for providing a high standard of care for them - focusing on their education, behaviour, physical and mental well-being, in order for them to achieve positive outcomes. Having a love of sport, music, cooking, being outdoors, arts and crafts, swimming and laughing would be advantageous!
You will be working as part of a supportive team who are all experienced residential support workers and will be able to pass information and support you fully in this role.
You will be:
- Supporting and mentoring our children in day to day activities to develop their health, emotional and social needs
- Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
- Positive engagement to encourage our children and young adults in their development
- Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development
- Managing complex behaviour that can sometimes be challenging
The working hours are 39 hours per week which include weekends, evenings and bank holidays. There will be no sleep-in requirements for this post at present, but this may change in the future.
Driving licence is essential.
In accordance to Ofsted requirements and insurance purposes, applicants must be aged 25 years or older

Salary: £20,000.00-£21,500.00 per year
Experience:
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- UK driving licence (either manual or automatic)? (required)
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred)
