Role Title Logistics & Supply Chain Manager

Reports To Supply Chain & Purchasing Director

Key Deliverables The role has two high level remits:

1) LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT:

To manage (hand-on) in-bound & outbound logistics across Crasters global network of suppliers & customers. This includes: the performance of two 3PL managed warehouses in Czech & US; the raising of all customs & export documentation; performance of freight providers for Road, Sea & Air.

2) SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT:

To manage (hand-on) the demand management (SIOP/S&OP, forecasting & inventory planning). To run the supplier purchase ordering & expediting.

Responsibilities & Direct Reports

1) LOGISTICS:

  • Manage 3PLs for: warehousing (x2) & freight i.e. road, sea, air & couriers.
  • Continually review warehouse and freight operations looking to optimise performance & minimise costs.
  • Support the warehouse tender & annual renegotiations.
  • Monitor operational KPIs & cost performance across logistics & supply chain.
  • Provide inputs to the logistics & supply chain budget cycle.
  • Document, maintain and improve SOPs/ways of working.
  • Be the primary point of contact for logistics issues liaising with Sales, Customer Services, 3PLs, New Product Introduction, Purchase, and Suppliers
  • Evolve & improve the pick & pack/QC/returns/repack/kitting processes.
  • Reduce stock holding through consolidation and dealing with damages, overstocks, obsolete SKUs etc.
  • Ensure stock accuracy & perform stock takes.
  • Ensure that logistics & supply chain data is maintained within Crasters ERP (Acumatica).
  • Providing input to packaging decisions & problems (in-bound & out-bound).
  • Work daily with Customer Services to assist in promising to customers & problem resolution. Be an interface between Customer Services & 3PLs.

2) SUPPLY CHAIN:

  • Manage the demand management process, including: S&OP/SIOP; demand forecasting, inventory planning.
  • Support the implementation of a specialist demand management & inventory holding package.
  • Ensure that purchase orders are placed in line with requirements.
  • Oversee the expediting of all in-bound supply, covering: suppliers, freight & warehouses.
  • Ensure that stock levels are maintained across all warehouses.
  • To liaise with New Product Development during the new product launch process to ensure supply chain & logistics are in place at product launch.
  • Support Sales & Marketing by managing logistics to ensure products are available for marketing events & shows globally & returned.
  • Ensure that product certifications are in place.
  • Manage logistics related projects embracing team members from across the business.

3) DIRECT REPORTS:

  • A team of 3 full-time employees covering logistics & supply chain: 1x based in CZ at the 3PL warehouse; 2x based at head office in London.
  • As the business grows it is likely the size of the team will increase.

4) PRIMARY INTERFACES:

  • INTERNAL: Sales; Customer Services; New Product Development; Marketing; Business Intelligence; Purchasing.
  • EXTERNAL: Suppliers; 3PL Warehouse Providers x2; Freight Providers.

Skills /Experience / Capabilities • 3+ years working experience managing & getting most out of 3PL providers.

  • 3+ years of managing suppliers (sometimes under performing).
  • Must have detailed, hands-on knowledge of international logistics and technical requirements including documentation.
  • High level of computer proficiency: ERP (ideally Acumatica), Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning software; Data manipulation using: Excel.
  • Team Management & development Craster is a growing business & it is likely the Logistics & Supply Chain team will grow.
