Groundsperson

We are hiring for a wide range of job roles at our brand new tier 4 children’s mental health hospital, just outside of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

Location: Smallwood Manor, Uttoxeter.

Role Requirements/Specification:

• To carry out an effective and comprehensive day to day grounds and gardens maintenance to all areas, this includes snow clearance in winter months
• Responsible for ensuring all main entrances are kept tidy
• Responsible for ensuring that all gardening equipment and machinery is used in a safe manner i.e., mowers, tractors and light plant (leaf blower and strimmer
• Ensure COSHH advice is followed and to use the protective personal equipment supplied.
• Carry out ad hoc lawn maintenance and pruning as required

Candidate Information:

• To be able to detect and deal with common plant diseases and pests
• To be competent in the use of spraying equipment for pesticides etc

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Flexible and adaptable
• Self-motivated person and able to work with minimum supervision
• Recent experience in a ground’s maintenance
• Experienced in the use of tractors, mowers, strimmer’s and similar grounds maintenance power tools

Desirable:

• Previous experience of working in health care setting or similar environment
