Position Overview & Specifications

We have an excellent opportunity for a People & Culture Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.

As People & Culture Manager, you will be offered a diverse and fulfilling career with the opportunity to work across all areas of the business. You will be responsible for all core P&C responsibilities of employee lifecycle, policy, disciplinary, grievance, wellbeing, and recruitment, across our locations, both on board and on shore. The company has approximately 450 employees.

The Role

Some of the Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing the day-to-day people and culture activities
  • Line management responsibility for our P&C Administrator
  • Providing responsive and proactive advice to managers and employees. You will support and advise on a wide range of issues including sickness absence management, disciplinary and grievance, change management and interpretation of policies and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Ensuring legal compliance of our company policies and processes and that they are practically implemented.

About You

The successful candidate will have great communication skills, the ability to connect with a variety of audiences and quickly build relationships with managers in the organisation.

You will be perceptive and have the ability to remain neutral, calm and composed in difficult situations.

You will be approachable, credible, intuitive, and always maintain confidentiality.

You will be solution focussed, with a positive attitude to getting things done and keen to go the extra mile.

You will hold a CIPD Level 3 qualification as a minimum, Level 5 is desirable but not essential.

  • There is a requirement for some travel to Company sites including Guernsey, Jersey, St Malo, and Portsmouth, which may include overnight stays.
  • Hybrid working available, with office working at our Headquarters based in Poole, Dorset
