Senior AWS Platform Engineer

Role: Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid – Remote/London

Permanent - £70,000-£95,000

About the role:

As a Senior AWS Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building, testing, packaging, deploying and operating an enterprise scale cloud platform alongside shared platform tooling within the cloud. You will use your development skills to automate the build of infrastructure resources within AWS, along with the packaging of services into AMIs, Docker containers or Serverless deployments.

Required Skills:

• Experience of working with a wide range of AWS services, and an understanding of how to select the right service for a given challenge
• Experience with platform engineering - landing zones, multi-account, multi-tenant environments
• Building AWS resources using infrastructure as code using Terraform (or CloudFormation)
• Knowledgeable about the key challenges that are present when using AWS, and how to mitigate them
• An understanding of the challenges and priorities of operating services, and how SRE principles can be applied
• Experience with system design, and the ability to assess trade-offs with design options

Desired Skills:

• Hands on experience of working with key AWS security services
• AWS associate, professional or speciality certification
• Delivering within an agile environment
• Development background, with experience in common programming languages e.g. Python
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (self-hosted or as a managed service)
• Experience automating continuous deployment of infrastructure of code
• Experience with the challenges of managing a multi-tenant platform
