HGV Class 2 Driver

We are currently seeking a Class 2 HGV driver who is looking to start a usually busy working environment to play a part in our exciting Transport Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for driving an assigned motor vehicle, responsible for the operation and use of the vehicle and associated equipment, maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, and refuelling of the vehicle.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and unsupervised, can communicate effectively to the transport team, to external companies and the public whilst providing the highest level of customer care. They will need to follow written and verbal instructions and will be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and must be confident that they are able to stay within the WTD/Driving Hours rules and regulations and plan the day accordingly.

You will need to wear the correct PPE, adopt all systems and methods of work included within training programmes and documentation.

Every day, safety checks must be done to the vehicle and the equipment whilst following health and safety guidelines, safe working practices and undertake work in compliance with Manual Handling Regulations. Training will be provided only where relevant.

This can be a demanding role within the business. Standard working hours will be Monday to Friday although there will be a requirement to cover both early and late shifts if required. Hourly rate is £15.00 per hour. Overtime rate is paid at time and a half - £22.50 per hour.
