We are an Old School barbershop upstairs in a Victorian railway arch in Bermondsey. it is the culmination of more than 60 years of combined experience in barbering, styling, fashion, retail and business. We took all of the things we loved, vintage style, music and above and beyond customer service to create a stylish, welcoming and very cool space where you can get a superlative haircut, buy a unique t shirt, drink bespoke cocktails and listen to great music all at the same time!.

We manage to distil all of our passions, music, style, cocktails, events and stellar customer service into a unique and unbeatable experience.

Job description

Castro's Barbershop is looking for an old school barber to join our growing business. You should be the kind of barber who understands that there's much more to old school barbering than just skin fades (ideally you'll know the difference between a pomp, flat top and an executive contour and be able to do all of them and more but if you don't we can teach you). You should be able to use scissors and clippers with equal skill and have an eye on contemporary trends as well as retro haircuts. You should be based in London and excited about the idea of growing and thriving with a relatively young business. You need to have 2-3 years plus experience of working on a busy shop floor and be able to execute to the highest standard. This is not a junior barber or trainee position.

We are looking for someone friendly, personable, with above and beyond customer service and common sense always helps! Our business is in the happy position of receiving amazing customer reviews and with an above average customer retention rate. We are growing faster than we can keep up and turning customers away every day because we don't have available slots.

We run a lot of interesting events and are always doing cool things in the shop and elsewhere (vinyl DJ sessions, cocktail masterclasses, gigs etc.) and if you work with us, you're always invited.
