Trainee Finance Assistant

A business based in York is currently recruiting for a Trainee Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. A competitive salary is on offer for this role, alongside up to 28 days holiday, inclusive of bank holidays (increasing to 33 with service), discount and discretionary bonus.

The Trainee Finance Assistant would be joining a successful finance team, and will be responsible for the Sales Ledger and Credit Control duties; managing customers' outstanding debt and the overall sales ledger process.

Reporting into the Team Leader, key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the company credit control procedure
• Helping with the day to day administration, including the supply of copy invoices and statement and review customer credit files
• Cash allocation
• Posting and allocating invoices within the sales ledger
• Progressing payments that are due and chasing overdue accounts by email, letter and telephone
• Dealing with customer queries and correspondence
• Other ad hoc duties within the Finance Team

To be successful in this Trainee Finance Assistant position you will ideally:

• Have previous a desire to work in a finance role, ideally in Sales Ledger and Credit Conrol
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Have experience using software such as SAP, Xero, SAGE or similar would be advantageous, but not essential

We are ideally looking to speak with individuals with Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger or Credit Controller experience too. Previous experience in a customer service or customer facing role would also be desireable.

This role is easily commutable from York, Malton, Pickering, Sheriff Hutton, Thirsk and surrounding areas. There is also free car parking on-site.
