IT Operations Technician

A rare and unique opportunity to join a construction business as an IT Operations Technician, working as part of a small hands-on IT team. You will be fundamental in delivering IT projects, ensuring the smooth running of the IT infrastructure and network. You will earn up to £40,000, depending on experience, alongside an excellent benefits package including private healthcare. Working Monday to Friday, with some on-call requirements, you will be based on-site near Whitby. Access to your own vehicle is desirable, but not essential.

As IT Operations Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Management of servers, switches, and associated IT infrastructure
• Delivery of a range of IT projects as directed by the IT Operations Manager
• Involved with the design and implementation of network infrastructure, deploying enhancements and modifications
• Dealing with complex IT issues, to ensure the smooth running of the IT department
• Sharing knowledge with team members, and aiding their development
• Participating in continuous training and development to keep your IT knowledge up to date

To be successful in this role of IT Operations Technician, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding skills
• Previous experience providing 2nd/3rd line IT support in a fast-paced commercial setting such as working on a busy service desk
• Working knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure
• Knowledge of and exposure to Cisco, LAN/WAN, SQL Linux, VMware, Veeam, and other server technology
• Experience delivering IT projects to set timescales and budgets
