Position Overview & Specifications
Main Responsibilities:
a. To always act with integrity and empathy.
b. To maintain confidentiality on all aspects of care and your work within the home
c. To comply with the home’s Health & Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health regulations.
d. Comply with Care Quality Commission (CQC) Fundamental standards
e. To have a working knowledge of the home’s policies and procedures in respect to your job.
f. To assist service users in preparing for bed, offering reassurance and comfort.
g. To carry out regular checks on service users throughout the night (where instructed) taking into account their privacy.
h. To carry out regular security and fire protection checks.
i. To assist service users with getting out of bed, personal care, toileting and dressing (if necessary) and meeting their needs as required at the time.
j. To assist with the service user’s laundry. To ensure the correct marking of service user’s clothes. Ensure the laundry room is clean and free of safety hazards.
k. To complete daily routine and deep cleaning within accordance of the home’s schedules.
l. To report any concerns or incidents to the manager or area manager in a timely manner
m. To report any maintenance defects to the appropriate person.
n. To dispose of waste in accordance with the home’s waste disposal policy.
o. Be on standby to respond for assistance by other staff and service users, and to answer the telephone and door. Be available to support other services during staffing shortages or emergencies.
p. To follow the service users, support plans and ensure support plans, handovers and any other form of written/electronic reports that affects your work are read and kept up to date.
q. Attend staff meetings, supervisions, appraisals and contribute and feedback as required.
r. Attend virtual, internal, and external training and complete e-learning training as required.
s. To administer medication as prescribed by professionals and provide clinical care to service users as authorised and directed – (Only if you have been trained and are confident in performing these duties.)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 - 40 per week
Salary: £9.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- HORNCHURCH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
