Public Relations (PR) & Social Media Manager - B2B

Canon UK is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Public Relations Manager (known internally as a PR Specialist) to join its Corporate Communications, Marketing and Sustainability team (CCMS).

You‘ll take on the Public Relations and Social Media activity for Canon UK & Ireland's corporate and full B2B portfolio (including our industry-leading office solutions, professional print and business services). You will plan, implement and measure campaigns to support our ambitious business objectives.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders and marketing teams to define PR and social media objectives, agree targets and deliverables, and then develop and generate the messaging documents for both Canon’s Corporate and B2B PR & Social Media strategy.

What we ask

As our B2B Public Relations & Social Media Manager, you’ll be given responsibility for:

• Managing local agencies to develop and implement proactive PR and social media plans
• Developing Canon UK & Ireland’s B2B social media presence
• Creating impactful local PR initiatives which will drive positive press coverage for Canon UK & Ireland’s entire portfolio of B2B products and solutions
• Working with senior spokespeople to create relevant thought leadership content and elevate the organisation’s voice within the industry
• Managing relationships with UK journalists, especially business and trade contacts
• Sell in of relevant content shared from the Canon EMEA comms team including press releases, support documents and editorial copy
• Hosting journalists at Canon and industry events and managing product demonstrations and reviews

You will need

As PR Specialist:

• You have proven Business-to-Business Public Relations and corporate experience
• A demonstrable understanding of using social media to support business objectives
• Strong evidence of PR planning and reporting based on Key Performance Indicators to monitor coverage and results on a regular basis, and a clear ability to act on these to provide future direction on objectives and measurements of success.
• Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with senior stakeholders and external press, PR and communications agencies

This is a hybrid role with some days in the office and some days working from home
