Position Overview & Specifications

Salary: £32,100-£41,700

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (approx. 2 days a week in the office)

Contract: 12 month, fixed term

About the role

Assessment Managers in the Cambridge English Qualifications team are responsible for managing the production of question papers, and are involved in a wide range of assessment processes. The role is an excellent opportunity for experienced ESOL/EFL professionals with a keen interest in assessment.

The principal accountabilities are:

  • Managing teams of test material writers, and the editing, pretesting, and proofreading of test materials
  • Developing and updating key documentation
  • Carrying out assessment-related administrative responsibilities
  • Contributing to increases in efficiency and effectiveness and initiating and/or contributing to research
  • Participating in exam reviews and in the development of new testing services.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a recognised entry level EFL/ESOL teaching qualification (Cambridge CELTA or equivalent), or significant directly relevant experience working for an exam board and on exam processing.

With several years of EFL/ESOL teaching and/or assessment experience, including experience in preparing candidates for Cambridge English exams, you will also have experience of materials production and/or evaluation.

Other key skills and experience include:

  • Excellent attention to details, including proofreading skills
  • An interest in educational assessment and some involvement in assessment in previous employment
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
