Position Overview & Specifications
- Conduct research and fundamental analysis supporting the due diligence review of investment opportunities (project/asset, sector/market, quality of management, ability to create value, growth potential, risks, etc.).
- Prepare investment recommendations and present to decision-making bodies.
- Navigate financial models related to investment opportunities and adapt as needed to reflect certain scenarios Review, analyze and contribute to negotiating legal documentation related to investments in order to protect the interest of CDPQs depositors (letters of offer, credit agreements, indentures and other credit documents).
- Monitor quarterly and annual financial results of current portfolio investments and produce internal documents related thereto
- Help identify potential risks and business disruptors sufficiently in advance.
- Develop effective analysis, search and monitoring systems.
- Offer assistance to other team members to achieve expected results.
- Carry out all other related tasks as requested by the team leader.
- At least two (2) years of experience in credit or equity investment, preferably within the infrastructure sector
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related disciplined. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration
- Studies related to the CFA program and/or FRM, an asset
- Proficiency in software programs and databases used in the financial market (Office suite, Bloomberg, Capital IQ)
- English and French fluency, both written and spoken
- Sound knowledge of project financing and/or infrastructure corporate financing
