Position Overview & Specifications

Join our Building Supervisor team as a Corporate Security Officer where you’ll be responsible for the security and front of house for CAE’s Helicopter Training Facility. Based at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, CAE delivers helicopter training for the UK and partner militaries, and you’ll play a key part in ensuring the safety, security, and day-to-day operation of the training centre.

We’re looking for you to be customer-focussed and reliable, able to provide excellent customer service during the day to our colleagues, clients, and contractors, while working on your own to manage the security of the facility during the night shifts.

This is a shift-based role and includes both day and night shifts. The shift pattern is 2 days on, 2 nights on, followed by 4 off (12 hour shifts).

The role we are offering you

  • Acting as key point of contact for the facility during both day and night shifts
  • Managing the front-of-house during day shift, including welcoming customers and visitors, monitoring contractors, and operating the switchboard
  • Managing site security during night shifts and weekend shifts, including regular building and perimeter patrols (involves lone-working)
  • Conducting building walkarounds checking for plant operation, leaks, hazards, and safety issues
  • Supporting Administrative staff and providing cover during relief/ break periods

  • Obtain and maintain SIA license, first aid, and fire marshal training qualifications (company funded)
  • Supporting staff engagement activities and initiatives
  • Work as part of a shift pattern of 12 hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
  • Outside of the shift pattern maintain a rostered two-week standby period, supporting shift cover in this period where required

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to communicate in a professional and courteous way with customers and clients
  • Experience with corporate site security (ideally with existing SIA license)
  • Proficient with basic technology (MS Office, switchboards, phones)
  • Ideally some experience in a front-of-house or customer facing role
  • Ability to achieve and maintain training/ licenses (SIA, first aid, fire marshal, security clearance)

Location:

Working hours and shift pattern:

We operate 365 days a year including bank holidays and weekends

What kind of person will succeed in this team?

We’re looking for you to have great communication, professionalism and customer service skills. Your role will have a real mix of direct customer service during the day as well as lone-working during the night and weekend shifts. Therefore we need someone with the flexibility to reliably remain calm under pressure, make the right decisions, and support colleagues and customers to ensure the continued operation and safety of the facility.

CAE offers:
