About this role


BT are recruiting for a HR Professional – Corporate Functions to join the organisation on a permanent basis, the successful candidate will join our new Bristol office offering flexible hybrid working.


As a HR professional, you will shape, create and deliver projects and campaigns that will connect our people with our purpose. In addition, you’ll partner closely with HRBPs across Finance Strategy & Business Services to provide operational support on a variety of functional specific pieces of work – some of which will align to the annual cyclical people activities.


No day will be the same, you will have a diverse portfolio with a variety of stakeholders across HR and the broader business with the ability to collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence like Reward, LLTD and Recruitment to deliver creative and innovative solutions. You will have the perfect platform to gain breadth of experience across the full HR discipline, gaining critical experiences and enabling the development of core partnering skills for the future.

Your critical thinking skills will be key to helping with the design and delivery of forward-thinking people initiatives, whilst your ability to harness data and analytics will be instrumental in your approach. You get to do all of this whilst being part of a dynamic and supportive team who have broad HR expertise, alongside a passion for delivering to stakeholders and building a culture of continuous learning and coaching.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing projects critical to the delivery of the FSBS People Strategy, proactively balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks where applicable.
  • Supporting HRBPs with key function specific programme and pieces of work (such as OD, transformation & change, culture, learning & talent)
  • Taking the lead on annual cyclical activities, such as the performance cycle, pay review process, etc, working collaboratively with the HRBPs
  • Working collaboratively with other HR Professionals to identify opportunities to cross pollenate and build solutions pan Networks & Corporate Units
  • Delivering and supporting people projects from scoping through to post implementation review
Key skills required
  • Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate how HR projects connect the people strategy with the broader business strategy. Able to draw on experience to establish trust and credibility at pace amongst HR community and key stakeholders
  • Developing technical HR knowledge, gained in either a generalist or specialist capacity. Experience of working with business leaders on the delivery and implementation of core HR processes and practices across the full employee lifecycle
  • Leads with confidence in a complex and matrixed environment with strong business acumen and commercial awareness to understand impact of that to their deliverables
  • Takes accountability for owning and delivering outcomes. Self-starter, able to work autonomously with ability to cut through complexity with confidence to deliver against project / operational need. Continuous improvement mindset is critical to building greater collaboration across Corporate Units
  • Ability to balance conflicting requests & priorities and manage your time and the expectations of your stakeholders (HR & the business)
  • Uses strong analytical skills and intuition to analyse data and interpret business insights and trends. Uses data to support decision making and develop great solutions
  • Interested in future trends in HR and leadership and brings new external ideas and solutions to problem statements and as a mindset of continuous learning
  • Recognises the importance of working collaboratively and supporting each other to deliver on business priorities
