Are you passionate about the work of the British Red Cross? Could you collaborate with news outlets across Northern Ireland to deliver sustained, positive media coverage in line with strategic objectives?

The Northern Ireland Media Officer will work with outlets across Northern Ireland, positioning the British Red Cross in key national and regional media, including newspapers and magazines, online, TV, and radio to deliver sustained, positive media coverage. Through these mediums you will promote greater public awareness and understanding of the British Red Cross across Northern Ireland.
The post holder will work with teams from across the organisation to bring stories and issues from Northern Ireland to national attention, unearthing case studies, real life stories, and local insight that can be used to illustrate UK-wide media opportunities and campaigns.

Your work should inspire the public to take action to support people living in crisis, in the UK and around the world and to truly help connect human kindness with human crisis.

This is an opportunity to develop and create content and campaigns that inspire people to act and drive positive engagement. Could this role be for you?

Please see the attached Job Description for a fuller explanation of what the role entails.

Together, the teams help make up the Strategy and Communications directorate which tells stories about who we are, what we do, what we believe, and the difference we make to people's lives.

As part of the Red Cross Red Crescent global movement, we are bound by principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence. We are committed to welcoming people from diverse backgrounds, culture and experience. At this time we particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified people from a catholic background as this group is currently under-represented in our workforce.
