We’re glad you asked! Birch is challenger hospitality brand that believes in putting wellness, craft, and nature at the heart of everything we do. Birch Selsdon are on a mission to help you escape from hustle and bustle of urban living and give your body, and mind, the chance to switch off, relax and reset.

Birch Selsdon and the team would love to welcome you on this journey as we open the doors for guests, and future friends, to enjoy. We have 180 sleeping spaces, working destinations, 2 restaurants, a selection of bars, wellness centre, pottery, craft destinations and lido, along with our 200 acres of rewilded land, where cows, pigs and deer roam free, and our horticulture team grow fruit, vegetables and herbs that will be foraged to use across the site. What really makes Birch special is our people, aligned to lovingly take care of the land and hotel that we are the ambassadors, and custodians of.

You have gained your skills working in larger properties with a conference and events background, you can work to a high standard under a Michelin start chef and deliver the level of creativity in every dish. You and your team are the engine of the machine, methodical, fun and precise.

Who are you?

• A values driven individual who speaks their mind, is brave enough to be different, and believes in caring in all that you do.

• Understands the work that goes into a multi-function room hotel and can assist with creating the bases of the restaurant menus with their team.

• You are Innovative and look for new ways to delight our guests.

• A great communicator that manages their time well, you are always one step ahead.

• Inspires new team members and develops them to progress in the business, you love training and watching people grow from sharing your knowledge.

• Great food is your passion and that shows in the product you create.

• You know the safety guidelines and sanitation practices following the principles of HACCP.

• You collaborate with the Executive Chef and work on preparation and delivery of food items in line with the menu specification.

• Understands essential paperwork on reporting wastage, deliveries, temperatures and ensures these are recorded accurately.
