Birch Selsdon has 181 sleeping spaces, working destinations, 2 restaurants, one all day Dining and one fine dining restaurant. a selection of bars, wellness centre, pottery, craft destinations and lido, along with our 200 acres of rewilded land, where cows, pigs and deer roam free, and our horticulture team grow fruit, vegetables and herbs that will be foraged to use across the site. What really makes Birch special is our people, aligned to lovingly take care of the land and hotel that we are the ambassadors, and custodians of.

Are you a bit of Birch, here is what is needed to join us…

As Assistant Head Housekeeper, you are bright, bubbly, and tenacious, a real go getter!! You are a natural people person and love talking about the property, and all the good things that Birch does. You set yourself targets and deliver. You will have at least 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a larger business or an Senior Housekeeper in a smaller property and you are ready for a bigger cake to bite into. Who wouldn’t like that!

Who are you?

• A values driven individual who speaks their mind, is brave enough to be different, and believes in caring in all that you do.

• Support the Executive Head Housekeeper with the effective and efficient running of the housekeeping team, with direct accountability for define process within the department ensuring financial targets are achieved.
• Manage set up of rooms with guest specific requirements ensuring attention to detail and presentable room layout has been achieved by Room attendants and Floor Housekeepers.
• Assist the Executive Head Housekeeper to ensure the housekeeping team maintain high-quality standards, following Birch standards: be brave and open.
• Spot check the Floor Housekeepers / Room attendants / Linen porters according to Birch standards.
• Monitor and check VIPs’ arrival ensuring guest room brand standards are adhered to/ Front office is being kept informed of the status of the rooms.
• Ensure the adequate stock level of housekeeping stores: cleaning supplies/ guest amenities, linen, and bedding.
• Work directly with the team and ensures the well-being of our team and highlight any concerns to the Executive Housekeeper
• Improve processes, systems, or products.
• Identify training gaps.
• Coaching and supporting team members to develop.

Ideally, you would have:

2 + years in a similar role
A positive attitude and team player mentality
