English to French Translator

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate translation professional to join our specialist team of translators here at Basic Translators based in Hinckley! The ideal Translator will have a minimum of 12 months of translation experience or have previously studied Translation Studies to a high level.

What will you be translating?

We require an English to French Translator to translate the lessons, lectures, and content of a 5-year course on Islam. If you are passionate about translating to a high standard and are interested in learning about Islam in the process, look no further!

The course is taught by a highly passionate, spiritual leader who is eager to ensure that all those who wish to learn the teachings of Islam have the capabilities to do so. One of these capabilities is ensuring the course is in various languages to be taught worldwide.

You will be working alongside Spanish, German & Mandarin Translators who are also working on the same material. Your daily activities will include things such as;

• Translating lessons from both document and video format to a high standard
• Translating content and creating subtitles for videos from English to French
• Proofreading content you have translated to ensure quality

Due to the high content of translation duties, you must have experience or have studied Translation Studies to a high standard to be eligible and successful for the Translator position.

The skills you must hold;

• Minimum 12 months experience in professional translating or studied Translation Studies to a high standard
• A fluent (near-native) understanding of French
• Excellent writing skills in your own mother tongue
• An eye for absolute accuracy and attention to detail.
