Position Overview & Specifications

Are you passionate about content marketing and are searching for a role with great opportunities and development?

We are looking for a talented writer to join one of Birmingham’s longest-established creative communications agencies.

This role is aimed at someone who has a huge passion for words. You will take ownership of content writing across our diverse portfolio of clients, understanding different target audiences and adapting tone of voice for different clients.

Our client base is varied so you would be working on both B2B and B2C clients across a wide variety of sectors such as property, construction, retail, energy and manufacturing so no two days are ever the same!

You will need to deliver consistent results to tight deadlines, whether you’re devising content plans and crafting press releases or working on SEO blog posts and thought leadership pieces.

You will be skilled at optimising content for promotion across numerous channels, making sure our output engages relevant target audiences.

What we’re looking for:

As an agency that specialises in creative communications, words are hugely important to us! That’s why we have decided to start the search for a creative, passionate and adaptable content writer. You will be responsible for writing a diverse range of content for Barques’ varied client portfolio. This will involve writing across a range of different channels, writing for different target audiences and really bringing words and topics to life.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Writing content for press releases, articles, thought leadership, social media, blogs, case studies and email
  • Proofreading content by others and editing where needed
  • Working with the team to come up with fresh ideas for content, so you’ll need to be creative
  • Researching new industries and getting to know our clients’ businesses and how they talk about themselves
  • Optimising written content, so a good knowledge of SEO principles is desirable
  • Working with the team to look at how well your content has performed and making recommendations for improvement
