As a Barclays BUK Business Oversight Compliance (Business Banking) Manager you will provide oversight, advice and guidance to BUK which consists of Retail Product, Business Banking, Customer Strategy, Technology and Operations, Financial Crime and Transformation. You will have an exciting opportunity to work internally with partner Compliance teams to provide insight and advice to the First Line of Defence (1LOD).

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. • Developing a sound understanding of business areas to enable effective oversight and challenge
- Supporting the day-to-day compliance and conduct oversight of the business including new products and services and reviewing customer outcomes of existing products and services
- Ensuring issues and risk events are closed by the business in a timely manner with customer outcomes fully considered
- Spotting themes or trends across business lines which pose a significant risk to good customer outcomes
- Assisting with the interpretation of regulatory requirements and regulatory change, as relevant, across a range of topics
- Helping the Barclays UK compliance team more widely, including administration of compliance governance and ad-hoc tasks where requested
- Assisting the broader team in driving a positive Compliance culture within the business and progressing the Compliance Strategy
• Awareness of emerging technologies and risks associated with them from a Customer outcomes perspective
- Exceptional communication skills imperative particularly the ability to communicate complex scenarios simply, clearly and briefly
- Excellent execution mindset – ability to set deadlines, monitor progress and escalate where required
- Ability to self-learn, be relentlessly curious and challenge outside of comfort zone
• Experience working in a Compliance function
- Experience of tools used to manage change activity e.g., Kanban style or interactive Dashboards
- Experience working with data and the use of big data
- Industry recognised Governance Risk and Compliance professional qualification or similar
