Law Graduate – Trainee solicitor [via the Level 7 Apprenticeship]

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic law graduate who is looking to qualify as a solicitor. The role is via the Apprenticeship scheme which enables law graduates to work ‘on the job’ whilst studying before completing the newly introduced SQE exams. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody seeking to become qualified without having to complete the LPC and then secure a training contract. This apprenticeship will provide completion of the relevant qualifications and experience to become a qualified solicitor. This route is expected to take approximately 2.5 years until qualification.

We are a busy firm practising in the fields of family and criminal law. Candidates should be interested in both areas of law, but the majority of work will be in the family department. Bakers solicitors are experienced children lawyers and this is where the candidate will undertake the majority of their training. There will be the opportunity to undertake some criminal law work, including becoming Police station accredited if this is something which the candidate is interested in doing.

The role will be based at the Glossop Office, on a full time basis, with a day off each week for study as required via the apprenticeship scheme. The business works across three offices, including Stockport and Buxton and whilst the role will be based at Glossop, candidates will be expected to attend the other offices where required, such as for appointments with clients.

Due to the location of Bakers solicitors, the location of our work varies. Candidates will need to be able and willing to travel to Derby, Manchester and Chesterfield. Other destinations are also possible but these are the most regular trips for staff at Bakers solicitors. It will be important that the candidate can drive and has access to their own vehicle to be able to fulfil this role.

Full training will be given. Bakers solicitors are committed to training staff, with a history of successfully supporting trainee solicitors through to qualification.

Salary: TBC

Hours: Monday-Friday 9-5.15 (5pm on a Friday)

This is a salaried position , with the qualifications fully funded
