Position Overview & Specifications
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for a variety of residential construction projects, including new bathrooms, kitchens, and extensions, as well as home adaptations for elderly or disabled peoples homes.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed estimates for a variety of residential construction projects.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to identify project requirements and develop estimates that meet client expectations.
- Prepare detailed take-offs of materials and labor costs for all aspects of the project, including plumbing, electrical, and structural work.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and gather information for accurate estimating.
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals to clients, including cost breakdowns and project schedules.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in construction estimating, with a focus on residential projects.
- Familiarity with construction techniques and materials, especially as they relate to new bathrooms, kitchens, and extensions, as well as home adaptations for elderly or disabled peoples homes.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
