Introduction

The Atos UK&I MES team has secured a project with a UK Aerospace Tier 1, to design, build and deploy an SAP-based MES solution to their manufacturing business, with the aim to replace their legacy systems and to de-risk their current business practices, to provide a robust solution that will meet their business needs for the medium to long-term future.

The solution will consist of the following systems:
SAP ECC

SAP MII/ME/DMC

Siemens OpCentre APS

Data Historian

SQL Database

Role:
The role is for a UK based, Senior Solution MES Architect to take ownership of the overall technical solution, design process and lead the technical delivery team of senior MES consultants and MES developers through the functional design, development, configuration, test and deploy phases of the project, with the objective to ensure that the ‘big picture’ of the solution is maintained at all times, that the technical delivery team always follow SAP Best Practice and that the solution meets all of the customers stakeholder and user requirements.

Responsibilities:
They will be the technical lead for the complete solution. This will cover both the delivery team and working with the customer to ensure that the solution meets their expectations. They will be responsible for maintaining a close relationship with the Project Manager and the customer IT Lead.

Additional responsibilities include:
High End-to-End Level 2-4 Solution / Systems / technical Design

Ownership of Interface definitions (ISA 95)

Technical Deployment Models

Governance / Coordination of delivery

Technical Skills:
SAP Manufacturing Suite and solutions including ECC, ME, MII, DMC and PCo

Strong delivery capability through the project phases, from requirement specification through design, build & test and deploy & support.

A deep understanding of Manufacturing Systems and Plant Floor Systems.

Experience in manufacturing plant environments

An understanding of the core concepts for supervisory control and data acquisition in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of queue-based communication to external system.

Real-Time Data collection, Analysis and Reporting

Personal Skills:
Ability to establish immediate credibility amongst their peers, as a professional who is respected for his/her insight and technical expertise.

Ability to work with cross-functional and client facing teams.

A strong team work ethic with a proven ability to operate successfully in a collaborative, globally matrixed organisation across locations, time-zones and cultures

Experience Required:
Minimum 10 years’ experience designing and architecting MES solutions in manufacturing.

Proven experience in architecting solutions in manufacturing operations management

Strong experience with designing and implementing MOM solutions that span ERP, MES and shop floor systems

Good understanding of industry standards for manufacturing (ISA S95)

Prior experience in Aerospace industry

Experience working in a dynamic & highly demanding environment

Experience in working & delivering manufacturing systems preferably on Legacy, Integration, Plant Floor system
