We are seeking a skilled and hard-working IT Business Analyst to join our Sustainability IT team to help drive AstraZeneca’s sustainability initiatives across Access to Healthcare, Environmental Protection and Ethics and Transparency.

It’s an exciting time to join AZ IT, as we progress our IT2025 strategy to use technology and insights to transform our company, improve healthcare and positively impact the lives of millions of people!

Our goal is to position IT as a strategic-enabler, and we do this by focusing on close business partnership, defining, and delivering business-aligned strategies, and finding and developing the best IT talent in the industry.

You will work closely with multi-functional teams to drive strategic projects and carry out business analysis that identifies needs, provide insights and recommendations to our Sustainability colleagues across the globe. You will interact directly with business partners from a range of functions, our IT business partners and the technology teams crafting and delivering solutions.

Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst working in a dynamic project environment, you will work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and delivery teams; acting as a link between the business and IT.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and defining business need and areas for improvement
  • Selecting the appropriate approach to elicit, analyze, and handle business requirements
  • Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops
  • Understanding and documenting business processes and user journeys
  • Investigating and modelling information flows and data structures
  • Present and optimally communicate analysis results to drive decision making
  • Producing business analysis deliverables using relevant documentation styles and appropriate tools, in line with business wide standards
  • Working with project/program managers to deliver to plan

Essential skills and experience

  • Significant professional experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience of successfully deploying business analysis tools/techniques to enable business change
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills to discover and interpret business needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain and simplify sophisticated business processes and requirements for different audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence partners at all levels
  • Understanding of IT project lifecycle and IT quality standards
  • Understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and standard processes
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work assignments, communicate progress, and deliver on time
  • Formal certification in business analysis practice (preferred)
  • Any prior education or experience in Sustainability/SHE (preferred)
  • Experience in using technology to deliver solutions for sustainability functions (preferred)
  • Curiosity about sustainability topics and market trends
