Job Description


AECOM are currently looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to work on our joint venture with Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with Morrison Water Services to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme.

Our Water business is looking to bring additional expertise to our growing team in our Caledonia Water Alliance joint venture office in Stepps (Glasgow).

As Principal Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Deliver outline and detailed designs of water infrastructure, water pipeline and distribution projects.
  • Manage evolving designs and design teams as directed by the project manager to support the delivery of capital investment in water infrastructure on behalf of Scottish Water over the SR21 programme.
  • Hold overall responsibility for timeous delivery, quality, cost, HSE and ensuring compliance with Scottish Water’s established specifications and procedure.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in role where design was predominant responsibility of position.
  • Good understanding of CDM.
  • Efficient time management and planning (both for yourself and others).
  • Ability to work to a programme and highlight timeously any issues that will cause delays or changes.
  • Ability to cope with changes to client requirements or timescales during project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chartered or working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering Status (CEng/IEng).
  • Sound technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications and an understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Experience within water industry.
