Position Overview & Specifications

POST: SUMMER CAMP STAFF – Course leaders and Course helpers (Over 18s only)

CAMP DATES: Camp 1: 9th - 23rd July, Camp 2: 23rdJul - 6th Aug, Camp 3: 6th - 20th Aug

RESPONSIBLE TO: Camp Director

HOURS OF WORK: Day shift between: 8.00am – 6.00pm and/or Night shift between: 6.00pm – 8.00am.

RATE OF PAY: Course Leader: Day shift £150 per day. Night Shift £100 per night.

Course Helper: Day shift – Hours paid at minimum wage for age and depending on hours worked plus optional nightly rate.

We are looking for two levels of staff for the camp:

1. Course Leaders; who will work with the Course Director to deliver lessons and activities. Leaders must possess a positive and helpful attitude, and be willing to adapt their approach to the needs of the students.

Responsible for:

· Teaching of English as a foreign language

· And/or organisation and coordination of other fun activities.

· Confident planning of interactive and engaging activities

· Delivery of team-building games, agility and communications sessions.

· Assisting Course Director on excursions

· Oversee course helpers to ensure smooth running of the course

· Help students improve mental and physical well-being.

· Work well with other leaders and ensure effective safeguarding of young people.

· Help maintain a positive atmosphere

· Set a good example to both staff and students

· Follow all Health & Safety guidelines

· Communicate effectively with other members of staff.

2. Course Helpers; who will assist in every aspect of the camp.

Responsible for:

· Maintaining a professional and responsible manner.

· Meeting, greeting and farewells for all students each day.

· Organising and supporting staff with activities.

· Help maintain a positive atmosphere throughout the course

· Assist course leaders in all aspects of the day to day sessions as and when required.

· Supervise meal times

· Supervise evening activities

· Accompany course leaders on excursions

· Work well with course leaders and other helpers to ensure effective safeguarding of young people.

· Follow all Health & Safety guidelines

· Communicating effectively with other members of staff.

Meals, and accommodation for night shifts will be included.

Any training required for either positions will take place prior to start date.
