Position Overview & Specifications
At ABP Food group our focus is on consistently producing top quality products across all four divisions. We strive to provide the highest levels of service via a flexible, reliable, and competent team throughout our business
At ABP Doncaster, we are now looking for the next generation of talented engineers to undertake our Apprenticeship Scheme.
Our Engineering Apprenticeship is a well-structured 4-year programme which will see you qualify as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, with an OAL Level 3 qualification in Food & Drink Engineering Maintenance. Working in partnership with a large national apprenticeship provider, our apprentices spend time at their facilities on a block release, roughly 10 - 20 weeks per year. This means spending time away from home to be fully submerged into your practical experience.
Then, it's time to get back to site and put your new knowledge into practice. You'll be working closely with the on-site engineering team where you will have a dedicated mentor to support you through every step of your journey.
Our Apprenticeship provides:
- A gateway to a rewarding and successful career in engineering.
- Wide ranging engineering experience whilst undertaking a comprehensive apprenticeship programme across a large, multi-operational site.
- Work alongside a team of industry professionals and gain a range of qualifications.
- Learn how to work safely, including how to conduct engineering tasks in a food risk environment.
- Carry out and complete tasks and undertake projects both for the company and apprenticeship provider.
- Engage in all aspects of training and communication.
- 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*- C / 9-5 for Maths, A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.
- Must be over 18 years of age at the start of the apprenticeship.
- A keen interest in practical, hands-on activities.
- The drive and determination to excel during a challenging apprenticeship.
- A good team worker and ability to communicate with others.
- A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
- To be reliable - You will be an important part of a team.
- To be flexible - During the programme, you will be expected to work various shifts
Excellent framework, exceeding National Apprentice wage.
