We are currently working on behalf of a local M&E Building Services Contractor who are looking to recruit for the following position in the South West

Trainee Mechanical Estimator – with College on day release

Office Location: Clevedon, North Somerset

Salary circa £20k depending on experience, and then additional amount for car allowance, plus bonus.

Day release to local college to attend Building Services to HNC level. Experienced and qualified Mechanical Estimators typically earn £40-£50k p/a.

Brief Description:

Assisting with the pricing of Mechanical packages (plumbing, heating & air conditioning) of work within the construction industry - with values typically between £50k to £1m.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Book on enquiries, and raise sub-sequent enquiries for equipment and materials

Obtain competitive costs from suppliers and sub-contractors to enable bid submission.

Assist in the preparation and collation of tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.

Chase and follow up on submitted tenders.

Provide support and assistance to the Estimating team.

Attend tender and follow up meetings when required

Visit sites to survey projects when required.

Mechanical Estimator Qualifications / Experience:

Ideally Mechanical trade background or qualifications (City & Guilds Plumbing for example)

Proficient in all Microsoft Office software.

Ability to work alongside other Mechanical Estimators as well as independently within a busy estimating projects department.
